Benefits of Semester System

If you compare it to an annual system, it keeps students busy all year round with the same level of burden instead of the piling up of work at the end of the year. Comparing it to a quarterly system it is more flexible and has a slower pace of studies which is good for the students.

• It is just that you finish a course in just about 5 months.
• It is a kind of concentrated learning. Otherwise the course used to be spread over a full year and you try hard at remembering what was taught in the first month.
• Some other course for which a pre-requisite course is required can be taught in the next semester if the pre-requisite course is taught in the previous semester. In non semester type, you have to wait for a full year to learn such a course.
• Semester system also helps the teachers because they have to teach just one or two subjects in a semester rather than 4 or 5 for a full year. They need to concentrate on lesser number of subjects so that their teaching can be better.
